Weekend weather sees temperatures rise before Monday drop

Cyprus is heading into a warmer spell over the next few days, with the weekend weather forecast showing temperatures climbing well above the seasonal average before easing again on Monday.

High pressure continues to affect the region, while light dust will be present in the atmosphere at intervals.

Today: mostly clear skies and 28°C

Friday will be mainly clear, with periods of increased high cloud. Winds will range from north-easterly to south-easterly, light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort, and temporarily strong at 4–5 Beaufort.
The sea will be generally slightly rough to locally rough.
Temperatures will reach around 28°C inland and on the coasts, and 21°C in the highest mountains.

Tonight, conditions remain mostly clear. Winds become north to north-easterly at 3–4 Beaufort.
The sea will be slightly rough along the northern and eastern coasts, and gradually calm to slightly rough elsewhere.
Temperatures will drop to 14°C inland and in the higher mountains, and 17°C on the coasts.

Weekend: warm, bright, with increasing high cloud

Saturday and Sunday will both be mostly clear, with intervals of increased high cloud. Temperatures will rise slightly on Saturday and remain stable on Sunday, staying well above the climatological average for the season.

Monday: cooler, with possible rain

By Monday, increased cloud cover is expected to bring local showers and isolated storms. Temperatures will drop but remain above seasonal norms.

Overall, the weekend weather outlook points to warm, settled conditions before a slight cool-down at the start of the new week.
