The forest fire in Paphos was brought fully under control on Thursday afternoon after burning six hectares of low wild vegetation.
According to the Department of Forests, the fire broke out at 12:28pm in the Agios Vatzeros area of Marathounta and was brought under full control at 1:50pm.
The fire affected low wild vegetation as well as a private agricultural plot containing almond trees.
39 firefighters and crews responded
A total of 23 Department of Forests personnel took part in the operation, using seven fire engines and one tracked vehicle.
A further 16 members of the Fire Service assisted with seven fire engines, one tracked vehicle and one water tanker.
The cause of the forest fire is under investigation.
A fire is currently burning near a residential area in Konia, Paphos.
Strong firefighting forces are heading to the scene, while assistance from aerial firefighting aircraft has been requested.
The fire is burning in a difficult-to-access area, making firefighting operations more challenging.
Authorities remain at the scene as efforts to contain the blaze continue.
