Two bodies found near Kyrenia shipwreck

Two bodies have been found near the site of a shipwreck off the coast of occupied Kyrenia, with DNA testing under way to identify them.

One body was recovered on Saturday and another on Sunday, according to reports from the Turkish-occupied areas. The second body is reportedly that of a man, while no information has been released about the sex of the first victim.

DNA identification under way

Authorities have begun the identification process using DNA testing. No further details have been released about the identities of the two bodies.

The bodies were found in the area of the Kyrenia shipwreck that occurred on 30 August.

Eight people remain missing

The latest recoveries reduce the number of missing people to eight. The official death toll currently stands at 20.
