Sirens were activated around 09:50 in Akrotiri following a security alert issued by the British Bases.
According to Kourio Mayor Pantelis Georgiou, a message was received at 09:58 advising residents of the Akrotiri area about a potential security threat.
Residents advised to follow instructions
The message urged residents to follow safety procedures and adhere to instructions issued by the authorities in response to the alert.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
