A theft at Nicosia General Hospital has sparked concern after an unknown woman broke into a staff area and stole money belonging to nurses on duty.
The incident occurred in the early hours of last Friday during the night shift at the Accident and Emergency Department. According to reports, the woman gained access to a kitchen area used by medical staff, where nurses keep personal items in designated lockers.
An employee noticed the intruder and alerted the head nurse, but by the time staff responded, the woman had already fled the building.
Two hours later, it was discovered that several lockers had been forcibly opened and cash belonging to nurses had been stolen.
Police are investigating the case, and the incident has raised fresh concerns about hospital security and the safety of frontline staff.
