Pharmacy attack in Paphos leaves two hospitalised

Date:

Police believe personal differences were behind an attempted murder committed earlier today against a pharmacy owner and her employee in the area of Chlorakas, Paphos.

According to Assistant Police Operations Director Michalis Nikolaou, the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. in a shop where the 33-year-old owner and her 24-year-old employee were attacked. The suspect, a 35-year-old Greek Cypriot man from Limassol, reportedly walked into a police station after the attack and confessed to the crime.

A citizen had alerted the authorities by phone. Police rushed to the scene, sealed off the area, and called in the Criminal Investigation Department for forensic examinations.

Both women were taken by ambulance to the Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital. The pharmacy owner sustained multiple injuries to various parts of her body, while the younger employee suffered lighter blunt-force wounds.

Their condition is stable and out of immediate danger, though both remain in hospital for treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing.
