Free guided cultural tours in Nicosia until the end of the year

Five unique tours which highlight the history, architecture, culture and religious background of Nicosia are offered between March 29 and the end of December, the Nicosia Tourism Board (NTB) said here on Wednesday.

The tours are offered free of charge, with online registration at https://www.visitnicosia.com.cy/nicosia-guided-tours.

It is added that the programme includes five unique routes that highlight the history, architecture, culture and religious background of the city.

The first, entitled “The Nicosia Walled City Tour”, is a tour of Nicosia’s old town, amidst medieval monuments, Eleftheria Square, the Venetian Walls, the Ceasefire Line and the historic Town Hall.

The second, entitled “The Archaeological Tour”, is a journey into the ancient world of Nicosia, with visits to the Ledra Museum, the Cyprus Museum and the impressive Venetian Walls.

The third, entitled “The City Museum Tour”, is a tour of the city’s most important museums, from the Leventis Municipal Museum to Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum, revealing the cultural identity of Nicosia.

The fourth, entitled “The Religion Tour”, gives visitors the opportunity to discover the religious history of the city through visits to important Christian and Muslim monuments.

The fifth, entitled “The Architecture Tour”, is a walk-through Nicosia’s urban evolution, from historic alleys to modern architectural symbols such as Tower 25 and the 360 Building.
