The body found this morning inside the Paphos State Forest has been identified as that of 75-year-old Erato Athanasiou.
According to reliable information, although the body was not in a recognisable condition, it was identified by her relatives, who reportedly also recognised the clothes the unfortunate woman was wearing.
A major mobilisation is underway in the Tsakistra area in connection with the case of 75-year-old Erato Athanasiou, who has been missing since 23 August.
According to Police, at around 9.30am today, the body of an unidentified person was found inside Paphos State Forest by a Forestry Department officer.
Police officers rushed to the scene, while a forensic pathologist was called to carry out an examination.
Authorities will follow the prescribed procedures to establish the identity of the body.
Earlier, Police told SigmaLive that there had been a development in the case, without providing further details.
