35-year-old crashes into police cars—12 kilos of cannabis found

Date:

Around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, members of the YKAN (Anti-Drug Squad, Paphos Branch) stopped a car for inspection that was being driven by a 35-year-old man in Paphos.

During the stop, the suspect’s vehicle collided with two police patrol cars before coming to a halt.

A search of the vehicle revealed a travel bag containing a quantity of dry cannabis, with a total weight of 10 kilos and 41 grams. The 35-year-old was arrested for the offences, while a further search uncovered half a gram of white powder, believed to be cocaine.

Subsequent searches were conducted at a property managed by the suspect, as well as his residence, where an additional 2 kilos and 509 grams of dry cannabis were discovered.

The 35-year-old is now in custody as investigations by the YKAN (Paphos Branch) and Paphos Traffic Police continue.
