Tychikos urges respect amid health strain and church dispute

Date:

In a written statement, former Bishop of Paphos, Tychikos, responded to recent comments made by lawyer Ms Poula in the media, according to Sigma’s correspondent, Marios Ignatiou.

He makes clear that her views do not reflect his own. He also calls for respect regarding his health and the complex church situation that has unfolded.

Tychikos notes that other legal advisers represent him in Cyprus. He plans to return to the country early next week.

He states:

“Regarding the recent comments by lawyer Ms Poula, I wish to clarify that she expressed her own views. They were not mine.

I ask everyone to respect my health, which has been affected by the entire church dispute. I will return to Cyprus early next week.

Please do not rush to judge me or speak on my behalf.

In Cyprus, other lawyers handle my church and legal matters.”
