Firefighters in Nicosia responded to 35 incidents following heavy rainfall in several areas of the capital.
According to the Fire Service, six flood response crews were mobilised to deal with problems in Engomi, Makedonitissa, Strovolos, Lakatamia and Agios Dometios.
Most calls involved pumping water from flooded basements and premises, as well as clearing stormwater drains. Firefighters also towed vehicles from flooded roads.
There were also incidents involving sparks from EAC cables.
Tree falls on parked vehicle
In one incident, a tree fell onto a parked vehicle, causing property damage. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
The scene was handed over to the Police and a Strovolos Municipality crew for further action.
The Fire Service operations were supported by two crews from the volunteer group SUPPORT-CY.
At the same time, Nicosia District Local Government Organisation crews were working at various locations to clear stormwater drains and address problems caused by the heavy rainfall.
The flooding incidents were reported across several areas of the capital, with emergency crews continuing to respond to the effects of the rainfall.
