Rainfall has been reported over the past hour in several areas of Cyprus, confirming forecasts by the Meteorological Service for localised showers.
Rain has been recorded in areas including Agios Dometios, Askas, Latsia, Mathiatis and Machairas.
The local showers are providing a welcome break from the summer heat, with rainfall reported in both urban and mountainous areas.
Users of the KAIROFILOI KYPROU Facebook page have shared images and videos showing the rainfall in different parts of the island.
Further localised showers are possible in line with the latest weather forecast.
