Paphos Airport: €200,000 hidden in socks

A Ukrainian national was found carrying €199,950 in cash concealed inside 13 socks placed within shoes upon arrival at Paphos International Airport.

The discovery was made on 24 May 2026 by officers of the Cyprus Customs and Excise Department following intelligence received from the Anti-Narcotics Service (YKAN).
