Problems have already begun as a result of the severe weather that hit Cyprus on Saturday morning.
Intense weather conditions are being recorded in several areas across the island.
In the Agios Nikolaos area of Avgorou, according to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) spokesperson, lightning struck a warehouse, causing a fire and a power outage. Other reports suggest that the lightning struck a house, putting the occupants at risk.
EAC crews are at the scene working to restore the electricity supply, which is expected to return within two hours.
