Intense weather conditions have been affecting areas across Cyprus since around 10 a.m., when an orange weather warning issued by the Meteorological Service came into effect. The warning will remain in force until 7 p.m.

Rainfall intensity could range between 55 and 70 millimetres per hour, while hail is also expected.
Due to the severe conditions, Civil Defence has issued recommendations to the public, urging people to avoid unnecessary travel, check drains and gutters, and secure outdoor objects that could be swept away by floodwater or strong winds.

Police have issued similar warnings, as the road network has become dangerous in several areas.
