A Nicosia home robbery in Engomi has left a 39-year-old woman injured after a man and woman forced their way into her apartment and attacked her on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred at around 7.30pm, when the victim heard a knock at the front door of her flat. Upon opening it, two unknown individuals- a man and a woman- pushed their way inside and immediately assaulted her.
Held by the throat and attacked with a knife present
According to police, the male suspect grabbed the victim by the throat while holding a knife, as the female suspect struck her repeatedly on various parts of her body.
The intruders demanded money, and the 39-year-old handed over a sum of cash before the pair fled the scene.
Victim taken to hospital
An ambulance transported the woman to hospital, where she is undergoing medical examinations. The full extent of her injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Police investigations continue into the Nicosia home robbery, and efforts to identify the suspects are under way.
