A new yellow warning for extremely low temperatures was issued Monday afternoon by the Department of Meteorology.
As stated, the cold mass that has been affecting the island in recent days continues to produce quite low temperatures, especially on nights.
It is added that according to the latest forecast data, the minimum temperature tonight is expected to drop to around -2 degrees Celsius in the interior, around 0 degrees on the southern coast, around 2 degrees on the rest of the coastal areas and around -9 degrees Celsius in the higher mountainous areas.
“For this reason, the Meteorology Department has issued a new warning for extremely low temperatures in the interior, the southern coast and higher mountainous areas,” it is noted.
The yellow warning will be in effect from 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, to 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, the department concludes.
