A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Limassol in connection with the stabbing of a 28-year-old, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 1am when officers, acting on information received, found the 28-year-old injured on a Limassol street. He had sustained wounds to his hand and chest from a sharp object.
The victim was rushed to Limassol General Hospital, where doctors determined he had suffered a punctured lung and pneumothorax. He remains hospitalised, with his condition described as serious but not life-threatening.
During the investigation, testimony was obtained against the 23-year-old suspect. He was arrested under a court warrant and is currently in custody to assist with inquiries.
Police are continuing investigations into the Limassol stabbing.
