Cyprus Fire Service has taken delivery of six enclosed mobile trailer units as part of the EPIKENTROSIS project under the Interreg VI-A Greece–Cyprus 2021–2027 Programme.
The new fire service trailers will be distributed to each Provincial Fire Station Directorate and equipped with specialised technical rescue equipment for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies.
Strengthening operational readiness
The new units are expected to enhance the operational readiness and response speed of the Fire Service across the Republic of Cyprus.
The equipment will also allow Cyprus to assist other countries when required during emergencies.
Equipped by EMAK
The process of equipping the mobile rescue units is being carried out by the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) under the supervision of EMAK Commander Pyrachos Charalambos Charalambous.
Chief Fire Officer Nikos Longinos inspected the ongoing work.
EU-funded cooperation project
The EPIKENTROSIS project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and national resources from Greece and Cyprus through the Interreg VI-A Greece–Cyprus 2021–2027 Cooperation Programme.
