A father has been arrested under a court warrant in connection with a child neglect case after his 11-year-old daughter was found alone at a home in Paphos.
Police received information about the child and officers went to the residence, where they found the 11-year-old alone.
When officers asked where her father was, she reportedly told them that he had travelled abroad to attend a football match.
Social Welfare Services informed
Social Welfare Services were immediately notified and took responsibility for the child’s protection and care.
Police are investigating the father in connection with an alleged child maltreatment offence, while inquiries into the case are continuing.
