Cannabis discovered on the stairs of Limassol District Court

Cannabis was found at the Limassol District Court on Wednesday, after a member of staff located a small bag containing cannabis on the internal staircase of the building.

The substance, weighing 0.96 grams, was immediately secured and handed over to authorities for further examination.

Evidence handed to anti-drug unit

Following the cannabis discovery, the item was collected by the Anti-Narcotics Service of the Cyprus Police for scientific analysis.

The unit, known locally as YKAN, has taken over the investigation and will carry out forensic tests on the substance.

Scene under investigation

Police officers remained at the scene while preliminary checks were conducted inside the courthouse. Authorities confirmed that examinations are ongoing to determine how the substance ended up inside the building.

No further details have been released at this stage.
