Traffic congestion at the Agios Dometios checkpoint continues to frustrate commuters, even after recent infrastructure expansion works, according to Turkish Cypriot newspaper Kıbrıs Postası.
Students travelling to government-controlled areas for school and workers commuting across the checkpoint are experiencing long delays, particularly during the morning rush. Queues reportedly stretch as far as the next roundabout, with waiting times exceeding one hour.
Several commuters contacted Kıbrıs Postası to express their frustration over the disruptions. The report included photographs documenting the extensive tailbacks.
Authorities have yet to comment on whether additional measures will be taken to ease the congestion.
