Authorities unable to determine cause of death of two children in Xylofagou

Date:

Initial post-mortem examinations have failed to determine the cause of death in the case of two children found dead in Xylophagou, according to the British Bases authorities investigating the incident.

Authorities said the initial forensic examination did not establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the two children, aged 8 and 10.

As a result, further specialised tests have been ordered and are scheduled to take place on 2 July.

Ongoing investigation by British Bases

The case is being investigated by the British Bases, which are continuing to examine all available evidence in order to determine how the children died.

Officials have stressed that the investigation remains at an early stage and no conclusions can yet be drawn.

Court proceedings continue

The children’s father and stepmother are due to appear again before the British Bases court later this week.

They were previously ordered to remain in custody for three days as investigations continue.
