Fatal motorway crash in Limassol claims life of 29-year-old Dimitris Vasileiou

Dimitris Vasileiou, 29, from Limassol, lost his life in a road collision that occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. today on the Paphos–Limassol motorway.

According to police, the 29-year-old was riding a motorcycle along the motorway when, under circumstances that are still under investigation, it collided with a minibus travelling ahead of him. The minibus was being driven by a 57-year-old man.

Vasileiou, who was wearing a protective helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Limassol General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.

The 57-year-old minibus driver underwent both alcohol and drug tests, which returned negative results.

The Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances of the fatal collision.
