Areas recording over double rainfall
In many locations, Cyprus rainfall more than doubled the normal monthly levels.
From April 1 onwards, the highest percentages were recorded in Athienou at 316%, Frenaros at 262%, Xylotymbou at 255%, and Prodromos at 253%. Other areas also saw elevated levels, including Platres at 222%, Lythrodontas at 219%, and Paphos airport at 200%.

Meteorological Service data showed that all monitoring stations exceeded normal April rainfall levels, except Athalassa in Nicosia, which remained close to average at 94%.
Strong winter-to-spring rainfall trend
The data also shows that Cyprus rainfall from October 1, 2025, to date has reached 112% of the seasonal average.
In Polis, rainfall reached 135% of the expected seasonal total, while the highest cumulative figure was recorded at Stavros tis Psokas, with 1,019.4 millimetres.
Wetter-than-average year so far
Authorities say the figures confirm a wetter-than-normal hydrological year, with Cyprus rainfall consistently exceeding long-term averages in many areas.
The sustained rainfall has contributed to higher-than-expected water levels in several regions, reflecting an unusually active precipitation pattern this season.
