gov.cy launches online IBAN change for salaries and pensions

Date:

Public sector employees, officials and pensioners in Cyprus can now change the bank account used for salary or pension payments online through three new digital services launched on the gov.cy portal.

The services, developed by the Treasury of the Republic in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, became available on Thursday.

Three new digital services now available

The new services allow serving and retired public officials and employees, as well as hourly paid government staff, to update the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) into which their salary or pension is paid.

They are available through the gov.cy portal under the section for salaries and pensions of public officials, employees and hourly paid government personnel.

According to the Treasury, the services provide a simple, secure and efficient way to update payment details online.

Part of wider digital transformation

The Treasury said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to digitise public services and improve the quality of services offered to citizens.

It added that expanding digital interaction with the state also supports Cyprus’ transition towards a greener economy by reducing paperwork.

What applicants need

To submit an IBAN change request, applicants must have a verified CY Login account.

They must also upload either a copy of part of their bank account statement or a bank-issued confirmation showing only the bank’s name, branch, the account holder’s name and the IBAN. No transaction details should be visible on the document.

The services were developed in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.
