Araghchi says Middle East war will affect entire world

Date:

Iran war warning was issued by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who said the ongoing conflict in the Middle East will have consequences that extend far beyond the region and could affect the entire world.

Araghchi warned that the escalation of hostilities could trigger widespread global repercussions, regardless of geography, religion or economic status.

Says global consequences have already begun

“The wave of global consequences has only just begun and will hit everyone – regardless of wealth, religion or race,” the Iranian foreign minister wrote late last night in a post on X.

He accompanied the post with a copy of a resignation letter from a US counterterrorism official, who stepped down in protest over the war, presenting it as evidence of growing opposition to the conflict.

Calls on officials to oppose war against Iran

Araghchi also expressed satisfaction over reactions from international officials, particularly in Europe and the United States, who have criticised the armed confrontation.

“More and more voices – including those of European and American officials – are saying loudly that the war against Iran is unjust. More members of the international community should do the same,” he said.

He added that the war warning reflects Tehran’s view that the conflict risks destabilising not only the Middle East but also the wider international order.
