Technical discussions in Switzerland, held as part of ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, have concluded with the formation of several working groups, Iranian state media reported.
The talks followed earlier discussions on Sunday and focused on key issues central to the broader diplomatic process.
Four working groups established
According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, four working groups have been created following the latest round of consultations.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who specialises in legal affairs, said the groups will focus on sanctions relief, Iran’s nuclear energy programme, reconstruction and economic development, as well as monitoring the implementation of any agreed measures.
Focus on nuclear and sanctions issues
The working groups are expected to address some of the most sensitive aspects of the negotiations, particularly Iran’s nuclear programme and the lifting of US sanctions.
The formation of structured teams is seen as a step towards more detailed technical engagement in the broader diplomatic process.
Ongoing diplomatic process
The developments come amid continued efforts to reach a long-term resolution to tensions in the Middle East through negotiations involving Iran and the United States.
Further rounds of discussions are expected as the working groups begin their work on the agreed topics.
