Larnaca: 78-year-old man dead and four people hospitalised

Date:

A serious case is being investigated by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following the death of a 78-year-old man at a residence in Larnaca and the hospitalisation of four other individuals, whose condition is described as serious.

According to the Police, the 78-year-old man and his wife were taken yesterday to Larnaca General Hospital, where the man later succumbed. Today, during a memorial coffee gathering at the same house, other individuals are reported to have consumed the same beverage, as a result of which three of them developed symptoms and were transferred to hospital.

The Larnaca CID is conducting examinations to determine what the beverage contained, as well as whether it had also been consumed by the 78-year-old man and his wife.
