A workplace accident in the Paphos district has resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm, while the victim, a 21-year-old Pakistani national, was carrying out work in an open area when he was reportedly crushed by glass panels.
Employer arrested as investigations begin
Following the accident, police arrested the 56-year-old employer of the victim to assist with ongoing investigations.
He has been placed in custody as authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Department of Labour Inspection has also been informed and is expected to participate in the investigation process.
Police continue inquiries
The case is being investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is continuing its inquiries into how the workplace accident occurred.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding possible safety violations or working conditions at the site.

The fatal incident adds to growing concerns over workplace safety standards, particularly in construction and outdoor labour sectors.
