Weather forecast: Temperatures climb to 35°C

Warm conditions with chance of afternoon storms

Temperatures are expected to reach 35°C inland today, according to the latest weather forecast, while isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible during the afternoon.

The Meteorological Service said weak low pressure is affecting the region.

Today will be mostly clear, although areas of low cloud and light mist may be present during the morning. During the afternoon, increased cloud cover is expected to develop, bringing isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly over mountainous and inland areas.

Hail is also possible in areas affected by thunderstorms.

Temperatures reach 35°C inland

Winds will initially be variable and light at 3 Beaufort before gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort, temporarily reaching 5 Beaufort along southern coastal areas.

The sea will be slight.

According to the weather forecast, temperatures will rise to:

  • 35°C inland
  • 27°C on the west coast
  • Around 30°C on the remaining coasts
  • 25°C in the higher mountains

Clear evening with possible mist

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, although patches of low cloud are expected locally.

During the early morning hours, light mist may form, particularly in coastal and inland areas.

Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, while along northern coasts they will become southeasterly, remaining light at around 3 Beaufort.

The sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures are expected to fall to:

  • 18°C inland
  • Around 20°C along the coast
  • 16°C in the higher mountains

Similar outlook for the rest of the week

The weather forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday remains largely unchanged.

Conditions will be mostly clear at first, but increased cloud cover is expected to develop during the afternoon hours, bringing isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous and inland areas.

Temperatures are expected to remain at similar levels throughout the period, slightly above the seasonal average.
