Warm conditions before weather shift
The weather forecast indicates mostly clear conditions today, with periods of high cloud. Temperatures will rise to 27°C inland, as well as across the southern and eastern coasts, around 26°C on the rest of the coastline, and 24°C in higher mountainous areas.
Winds will blow mainly from the northeast to east, ranging from light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally reaching strong levels of up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough to rough.
Dust will also be present in the atmosphere, with concentrations expected to be elevated at times.
Clouds increase overnight
Tonight, conditions will gradually turn mostly cloudy due to medium and high clouds. Winds will remain in the same direction and intensity, occasionally strengthening locally.
Temperatures will drop to around 16°C inland, 19°C along the coast, and 15°C in the higher mountains.
Rain and thunderstorms from Friday
According to the weather forecast, Friday will bring intervals of cloud cover, with localised rain expected, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms.
On Saturday, the weather will remain partly cloudy, with further local showers and isolated thunderstorms likely.
Unsettled weekend with falling temperatures
Sunday will continue with partly cloudy skies, while localised rain and isolated storms are expected mainly after midday, particularly in mountainous areas and across the eastern half of the island.
The weather forecast also highlights a noticeable drop in temperatures by Sunday, with values falling below seasonal averages.
