Voter turnout reaches 49.8% by 3 pm, higher than 2021

Voter turnout in Cyprus reached 49.8% by 3 pm on Sunday, according to official data released during the ongoing parliamentary elections.

A total of 285,502 citizens had voted by 3 pm, representing nearly half of all eligible voters in the current electoral roll.

Higher participation compared with 2021

Officials reported that voter turnout in Cyprus is higher compared with the 2021 parliamentary elections.

The participation rate shows an increase of 4.7 percentage points compared with the previous vote at the same time.

District-by-district turnout

The breakdown of voter turnout in Cyprus by electoral district shows varying levels of participation across the island.

  • Nicosia: 52.4% (2021: 43.4%)
  • Limassol: 44.9% (2021: 44.7%)
  • Famagusta: 53.9% (2021: 51.6%)
  • Larnaca: 49.4% (2021: 45.4%)
  • Paphos: 51.2% (2021: 49.5%)
  • Abroad: 46.2% (2021: 40.3%)
  • Cyprus total: 49.8% (2021: 45.1%)

Voting continues until 6 pm

Authorities confirmed that voting will continue until 6 pm.

Voters are urged not to wait until the final hour in order to avoid congestion at polling stations and ensure a smooth voting process.
