Polling stations across Cyprus and Greece temporarily closed at noon on Sunday after recording strong voter turnout during the parliamentary elections.
Voting pauses until 1:00 p.m.
The 1,212 polling stations operating in the Republic of Cyprus, as well as in Athens and Thessaloniki, closed temporarily at 12:00 p.m.
Voting is scheduled to resume at 1:00 p.m.
Higher turnout than 2021 elections
According to available data, 32.3 per cent of registered voters had cast their ballots by noon.
At the same point during the 2021 parliamentary elections, turnout stood at 26 per cent of the electorate.
Smooth voting process reported
Authorities said voter turnout continued smoothly throughout the morning without any significant problems reported at polling stations.

Turnout at 12 PM stands at 32.3%, around 6 points higher than at the same point in the previous parliamentary election.
