The US embassy Israel has authorised the departure of non-essential personnel and family members amid the possibility of a strike on Iran.
The embassy confirmed on its website on Friday that the US State Department approved the move “due to safety risks”.
Advisory to consider departure
In its notice, the embassy stated: “Persons may wish to consider leaving Israel while commercial flights are available.”
The advisory reflects heightened regional tensions as Washington increases its military presence in the Middle East.
US military buildup
The announcement comes as the USS Gerald R Ford carrier strike group is expected to arrive in northern Israel as part of a broader US force buildup ahead of a potential strike on Iran.
The deployment signals growing concern over escalation in the region, with diplomatic and military preparations under close watch.
