Residents of three Paphos communities placed under home confinement

Authorities in Paphos have ordered residents of Timi, Acheleia, and Mandria to remain in their homes following instructions from Cyprus Civil Defense, local officials confirmed.

Safety measures for communities

The Deputy Mayor of Timi, Giorgos Polykarpou, stated that clear instructions were issued for residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Authorities also assisted students and parents returning home from the Timi Regional Primary School, which serves multiple neighbouring communities.

Airport alert lifted

Meanwhile, the alert at Paphos Airport has ended, and airport staff are gradually returning to their posts. The Ministry of Interior confirmed via X that, following updates from the National Guard, evacuation instructions were issued for the Akrotiri Municipal District and Paphos Airport as a precautionary measure.

Residents of Timi have been advised to remain in their homes until further instructions are provided.
