Police in Nicosia arrested two young men late on Thursday night for the offence of illegal possession of game during the closed hunting season.
At around 23:45, members of the Green Line Surveillance and Migration Control Unit stopped a car for inspection in the Nicosia district. The vehicle was driven by a 22-year-old man, with a 16-year-old passenger.
A search of the vehicle revealed a freshly killed hare, leading to the arrest of both occupants for the offence of illegal possession of game.
Investigations are ongoing.
