China has agreed to place an order for 200 aircraft from Boeing, according to US President Donald Trump in comments during a televised interview.
The remarks were made in a conversation with Fox News host Sean Hannity, with an excerpt of the interview released on Friday.
Announcement follows Beijing talks
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had earlier indicated that a major Boeing order was expected to be announced during Trump’s visit to Beijing, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump said the agreement involved a larger-than-expected purchase, stating that Boeing had initially sought 150 aircraft but ultimately secured an order for 200.
Strategic trade implications
The reported Boeing order comes amid ongoing high-level economic discussions between Washington and Beijing, with aviation trade often viewed as a key component of broader US–China commercial relations.
Neither Chinese authorities nor Boeing have immediately confirmed the details of the reported agreement.
Aviation industry impact
If confirmed, the order would represent one of the largest commercial aircraft deals in recent years for Boeing, strengthening its position in the global aviation market.
The announcement is also expected to have implications for supply chains and long-term production planning across the aerospace sector.
