Police are searching for 19-year-old Syrian national Medyan Al Shabn after he escaped from the Lakatamia police holding cells at around 7:45 p.m. yesterday.
The 19-year-old had been transferred to the Lakatamia holding cells following a decision by the Limassol District Court to remand him in custody pending trial in connection with a case.
At around 7:45 p.m. yesterday, officers discovered that he was no longer in his cell. The circumstances surrounding his escape are under investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information that could help locate him to contact the authorities or the Citizen’s Line.
