Temperatures to hit 38°C today – slight cooling expected ahead

Cyprus weather starts the new week with mainly clear skies and high temperatures as seasonal low pressure continues to affect the region.

Temperatures are expected to climb to 38°C inland today, while a gradual slight drop is forecast from Wednesday onwards.

Warm temperatures across the island

According to the latest weather bulletin, conditions today will remain mostly clear across the island.

Winds will initially be variable and light at around 3 Beaufort before gradually shifting south-westerly to north-westerly at light to moderate strength of 3 to 4 Beaufort. Sea conditions will remain slight.

Temperatures will rise to 38°C inland, around 31°C along the western coast, approximately 33°C in other coastal areas and 28°C in the higher mountainous regions.

Slight cooling expected later this week

Tonight, conditions will remain mainly clear, although locally increased low cloud may develop during the early morning hours.

Winds will become north-westerly to north-easterly, while south-easterly winds are expected in northern coastal areas at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain calm to slight.

Temperatures overnight will drop to around 22°C inland and along coastal areas, and to 18°C in higher mountain areas.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain mostly clear. Cyprus weather is not expected to change significantly on Tuesday, while temperatures will gradually ease on Wednesday and Thursday, returning closer to seasonal averages.
