TechIsland and PSI Foundation bring together technology, business, government and art

Date:

TechIsland and PSI Foundation welcomed senior representatives from government, technology and the wider business community to An “Unspoken” Gathering, an invitation-only evening held on 12 October at PSI Foundation in Limassol.

Hosted around Bill Viola. Unspoken, the evening offered a different setting from a traditional business networking event. Guests experienced the exhibition through guided tours, followed by a cocktail reception, with art providing a shared point of reference for connection and conversation.

The event was honoured by the presence of Nikodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, representing the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, who addressed guests with a brief welcome.

Guests were also welcomed by Valentinos Polykarpou, Chairman of TechIsland and Chief Locations Officer at Wargaming, and Petr Valov, Co-founder & CEO of Exness and Board Member of TechIsland.

In their brief remarks, the three speakers reflected on the concept behind the evening and the value of creating opportunities for people to meet and engage outside the usual boundaries of a professional setting. They also highlighted the significant growth of Cyprus’ technology sector, which today accounts for approximately 16% of the country’s GDP and has become one of the key pillars of the Cypriot economy.

The choice of Unspoken was intentional. Bill Viola’s work invites viewers to slow down, observe and reflect on themes connected to time, perception and the human experience. That same pause from the pace of everyday life shaped the evening, giving guests an opportunity to share an experience, exchange ideas and connect from a different starting point.

The event also highlighted the broader contribution of Cyprus’ technology community. The impact of technology companies extends beyond economic activity and employment to initiatives that support culture, strengthen community life and contribute to Cyprus’ development as a place to live, create and innovate.

The evening also provided an opportunity for TechIsland to thank its Donors — Exness, payabl., Bank of Cyprus and PwC Cyprus — for their important support of the Association’s work and initiatives.

The Bill Viola. Unspoken exhibition continues at PSI Foundation until 24 October 2026. Scheduled guided tours are also available in Greek and English.
