The Syria bloodshed shows no signs of slowing, with more than 200 reported dead in southern Syria amid rising clashes between Druze militias and Bedouin tribes. The Syrian Foreign Ministry has placed full blame on Israel for recent airstrikes in the Suwayda region, which reportedly caused further casualties among government forces.
According to Axios, the Trump administration has urged Israel to stop targeting Syrian military positions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the raids were aimed at regime forces and weapon convoys en route to Suwayda.
Although Israel pledged to cease airstrikes from Tuesday evening, the situation on the ground remains volatile. Druze leadership has agreed to allow Syrian forces to re-enter Suwayda in an effort to halt the fighting. However, the move is controversial: Druze Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri accused Syrian troops of breaching the ceasefire by opening fire on civilians shortly after entering.
The Syria bloodshed erupted after a Bedouin group reportedly attacked and robbed a Druze man, triggering a violent cycle of retaliation and abduction between the communities. Security forces deployed to the area were accused of siding with the Bedouin side, further inflaming tensions.
50% of Sweida is with the Syrian Government and 50% is with Hijri's Israeli 🇮🇱 backed terrorist Druze militia.

Since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad last December, Israeli forces have maintained control of a UN-patrolled buffer zone near the Golan Heights and have conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian military sites. On Monday, the Israeli Defence Forces claimed to have struck Syrian tanks to aid the Druze.
Religious divisions have sharpened in recent weeks, and analysts warn of the potential for a new wave of sectarian conflict. Meanwhile, tensions also appear to be rising between the Kurdish administration in the northeast and the Syrian interim government in Damascus.
