“Sandy” case: Nine claims dismissed, only one was confirmed

Date:

Investigation report handed to Justice Minister

An expert police unit has concluded that key allegations linked to the so-called “Sandy case” are not substantiated, according to findings submitted to Justice Minister Constantinos Fytiris.

The report follows an investigation into claims circulated through messages published by investigative journalist Makarios Drousiotis.

Nine main allegations not supported

According to findings cited by the newspaper Phileleftheros, investigators examined nine central allegations and concluded they were not supported by evidence.

These included claims that “Sandy” worked at the Presidential Palace, had three children with a former judge, travelled to Germany for victim protection, and received large sums of money in exchange for silence.

Police also found that photographs and banking documents presented in the case were either falsified or taken from online sources.

Only one element confirmed

Investigators confirmed only one element: the sending of a threatening message to lawyer Nicos Clerides.

The message was reportedly brought to the attention of former Attorney General Costas Clerides.

Case to be reviewed by Law Office

The file is expected to be forwarded to the Law Office for further assessment, while responses from Europol and the FBI remain pending.

Authorities continue to evaluate whether any criminal offences can be formally established based on the investigation findings.
