Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is set to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today during his official state visit to India.
The President arrived in New Delhi on Thursday, where he was welcomed at the airport by India’s Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.
On Friday morning, Christodoulides is scheduled to hold talks with India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
Joint declaration and agreements expected
The Cyprus President will also visit the Gandhi Memorial, where he is expected to lay a wreath.
He will then hold a private meeting with Modi, followed by expanded talks between delegations from both countries. The two leaders are also expected to deliver official statements.
Modi and Christodoulides are expected to sign a Joint Declaration, while several Memoranda of Understanding are also expected to be signed in areas such as defence and security, education, and culture.
Official dinner at Presidential Palace
Later in the evening, Christodoulides will visit the Presidential Palace, where Indian President Droupadi Murmu will host an official dinner in his honour.
Before the dinner, the two heads of state are expected to hold both private and expanded consultations before making public statements.
