President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides is set to address the Cyprus-India Business Forum in Mumbai on Thursday, as part of efforts to strengthen Cyprus-India relations during his official state visit to the country.

The President has been in India since Wednesday, where he is holding meetings with business leaders and potential investors.

Business and financial engagements in Mumbai

During his programme in Mumbai, considered India’s financial hub, Christodoulides will attend the inauguration of Eurobank representative offices and visit the National Stock Exchange of India.

These engagements form part of broader efforts to deepen Cyprus-India relations, particularly in the fields of finance, shipping, technology and innovation.

Strategic economic partnership

According to the Government Spokesperson, the visit aims to further enhance Cyprus-India relations, positioning Cyprus as a reliable European gateway for Indian businesses and a stable partner in a region of growing geopolitical and economic importance.

He noted in a post on X that Cyprus is promoting its role as a trusted entry point for Indian companies seeking access to European markets.

Meetings in New Delhi

Following the Mumbai programme, the President will travel to New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of India on Friday.

He will also hold a meeting with the President of India, who will host an official dinner in his honour.
