Greek police are investigating the Paleo Faliro girl death as a potential homicide after the body of a young child was recovered from the sea, showing signs of possible foul play.
The three-year-old girl was found in the water off Edem Beach in Paleo Faliro in the early hours of Sunday, 27 July. She was wearing a turquoise one-piece swimsuit with fuchsia details. She had short brown hair, a slender build, and olive-toned skin.
Initial autopsy findings revealed injuries to the child’s body. The forensic report has been handed to police, and the Homicide Division of the Hellenic Police has now taken over the investigation to determine whether her death was the result of criminal action.
Earlier, the Hellenic Coast Guard had issued an urgent appeal to the public for any information about the child’s identity or family, noting that even seemingly minor details could be crucial to solving the case.
