Police seek help to find 22-year-old missing man – Photograph released

Police have released the photograph of Shahruar Ahmed Emon as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspected abduction, kidnapping and/or unlawful deprivation of liberty.

According to investigators, the 22-year-old Bangladeshi national left his home on 12 June 2026, telling relatives that he was going to a factory for his first day of work. However, he did not disclose the exact location.

The case is being investigated as a possible missing man and abduction incident.

Message sent before communication stopped

Police said that later the same evening, the 22-year-old sent a message through a mobile phone application to a friend, sharing a specific location.

No further communication followed.

Shortly afterwards, his father received a message from his son’s mobile phone asking for help.

From that point onwards, there has been no further contact with the 22-year-old.

Mobile phone switched off

Authorities said the mobile phone of the missing man remains switched off and calls made by family members have gone unanswered.

As part of efforts to locate him, police have released his photograph and are appealing to the public for information that may assist the investigation.

Public urged to contact police

Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Shahruar Ahmed Emon is asked to contact the Larnaca CID on 24 804060 or communicate with the nearest police station.

Police continue their investigations.
