Police arrested a 48-year-old man today, wanted in connection with an attempted murder committed on August 8, 2025, on a village road in the Famagusta district, with a 61-year-old man as the victim.
According to the case details, the victim argued with another man, who allegedly got into his car and then hit him while driving away. The 61-year-old suffered serious injuries and went to hospital, where he remained for treatment.
Evidence gathered by investigators led to a court warrant for the 48-year-old’s arrest. Police released his photo and details on August 9 in an effort to locate him. After today’s arrest, authorities say further publication of his personal details is no longer necessary.
The suspect is now in custody as the investigation continues, handled by Famagusta CID.
