Larnaca: 32-Year-Old remanded for eight days over attempted murder of 49-year-old

The Larnaca District Court today, Tuesday, issued an eight-day remand order against a 32-year-old man, to assist police investigations into an attempted murder that occurred on Monday afternoon in the Larnaca district.

According to the Police Communications Branch, the incident unfolded yesterday afternoon at a premises in Larnaca. A 49-year-old man allegedly came under attack from the 32-year-old, who reportedly used a knife, injuring him.

An ambulance transferred the 49-year-old to Larnaca General Hospital. Doctors said he suffered lacerations to the neck and hands. He received first aid and was discharged.

As part of the investigation, police secured a court arrest warrant against the 32-year-old, arrested him under that warrant, and placed him in custody.

Officers brought the suspect before the Larnaca District Court today, and the Court issued an eight-day remand order.

Aradippou Police Station is investigating the case.
