Authorities are investigating an incident after a mother filed a complaint alleging that her newborn sustained injuries following a bathing procedure at the General Hospital of Larnaca. The case has prompted a formal inquiry by the relevant services.
Allegation raised by mother
According to the complaint submitted to the police, the mother claims that shortly after giving birth, her baby was placed in hot water for bathing, resulting in burns on the infant’s legs.
The newborn was later transferred to Makarios Hospital for specialised care, where it is currently being treated.

Charalambos Charilaou, spokesperson for the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY), confirmed that the matter is being investigated by the relevant departments.
